Accounts - First and Last Name Changes
Procedure for first and last name changes
For employees and students, first and last names are changed automatically based on their name provided to us in PeopleSoft. Usernames are never changed automatically or without request of the user. The name change is processed in AMS and from there changes TitanApps (Google), NetID (Active Directory), and the online directory.
Users who want their first or last name changed need to start the process with the system of record:
- Employees: contact HR. The change can either be a legal name change (for example, changing last name due to marriage) or a preferred first name (such as Bob instead of Robert).
- Students: fill out the name change form for changing full legal name, or preferred name change form for a preferred first/middle name and send to the registrar's office
- Retried, affiliated, or other accounts with no PeopleSoft record: put in a ticket
