MyUWO Portal - How to Submit NARFs

How and when to input NARFs for employees who are being hired, are leaving, or need their NARFs modified.

Add NARFs

***Before adding a new hire, please make sure their HR paperwork has been processed and they have a completed entry in HRS. Their accounts will not exist prior to the completion of this. 

  1. Open https://portal.housing.uwosh.edu/Narf2/Home
  2. Select Submit NARF.
  3. Keep Add New Job selected and click Next.
  4. Select their position (if applicable select the Hall/s they will be working in).
  5. Put the Effective Date as the day they will start in their position.
  6. Enter their campus ID.
  7. Click the + Addbutton. 
    • Note: if they are currently in a position you will receive a prompt to delete it, only do so if 
  8. Repeat steps 4-7 for all NARFs you would like to enter.
  9. Click Next
  10. Review the permissions and select Submit (you may need to scroll).

Delete NARFs

From Employees Tab

  1. Open https://portal.housing.uwosh.edu/Narf2/Employee
  2. Click Delete NARF next to the employee you would like to remove.
  3. Leave Terminated as No unless the person has been fired and is vacating the position immediately.
  4. Put the effective date as the employee's last day of work.
  5. Click Submit.

For Multiple Users

  1. Open https://portal.housing.uwosh.edu/Narf2/Home
  2. Select Submit NARF.
  3. Select Delete a Job and click Next.
  4. Enter the employee's campus ID number.
  5. Put the effective date as the employee's last day of work.
  6. Click the + Add button.
  7. Repeat steps 4-6 for all employees you wish to remove. 
  8. Click Next
  9. Review the employees and select Submit (you may need to scroll). 

For All Employees in a Position

  1. Open https://portal.housing.uwosh.edu/Narf2/Home
  2. Select Submit NARF.
  3. Select Delete Narf By Position and click Next.
  4. Select the Position from the drop down.
  5. Put the effective date as the employees' last day of work. Click Next.
  6. Review the users and remove any that you don't want to delete by clicking the X next to their entry. Click Next. 
  7. Review entries a final time and click Submit

Change Hall NARFs

From Employees Tab

  1. Open https://portal.housing.uwosh.edu/Narf2/Employee
  2. Click Hall NARF next to the employee you would like to change halls. 
  3. Select the Hall/s you would like to add. (If you are adding halls but not removing any reenter the current hall.)
  4. Put the effective date as the day they will need access in the new hall. 
  5. Click Submit.

From Submit NARF Tab

  1. Open https://portal.housing.uwosh.edu/Narf2/Submit/HallChange
  2. Enter in the Employee ID and select Look-Up.
  3. Select the position for which you would like to change halls.
  4. Select the Hall/s you would like to add. (If you are adding halls but not removing any reenter the current hall.)
  5. Put the effective date as the day they will need access in the new hall. 
  6. Click Submit. 

Permission Changes

***If a permission change applies to all persons in a position and is not a temporary change, please contact the Help Desk to request a change to the NARF position. 

From Employees Tab

  1. Open https://portal.housing.uwosh.edu/Narf2/Employee
  2. Click Permission NARF next to the employee you would like to add/remove permissions from. 
  3. Put the effective date as the day they will need the access changed. 
  4. Click Submit. (Be patient it takes a while)
  5. Use the dropdowns to select the access that is needed. There may be additional configurations depending on what is selected.
  6. Click Submit.

From Submit NARF

  1. Open https://portal.housing.uwosh.edu/Narf2/Submit/PermissionChange?isComplete=True
  2. Enter the employee's Campus ID and click Look-up.
  3. Select the position for which changes should be made. 
  4. Put the effective date as the day they will need the access changed. 
  5. Click Next. (Be patient it takes a while)
  6. Use the dropdowns to select the access that is needed. There may be additional configurations depending on what is selected.
  7. Click Submit and Complete.
