Student Printing - Releasing a Print Job

A guide on the different methods of releasing print jobs at secure-release stations.

When using the printers that offer secure-release functionality, there are multiple ways to release print jobs:

  • Secure Release Station
  • Omega Terminal
  • At the copier itself
  • Scanning the QR Code (Touch-Free Printing)

Secure Release Station

At a secure release station, a computer will be sitting next to the printer for a user to login. It will show this screen:

Input your NetID credentials and select the jobs you want to print.

Omega Terminal

Near the printer you will find a touch screen and WaveID card scanner. Scan your card on the scanner, select your desired prints on the touch screen.

At the copier itself

On the printer, next to the touch screen, there will be a card scanner:

Ricoh Printer Card Scanner

Scan your card, selected your desired prints on the touch screen.

Scanning the QR Code (Touch-Free Printing)

Each printer able to utilize the Pharos App QR reader will have a sticker affixed to the printer. It will look like this:

QR codes will be located in obvious places on each printer to allow for easy-access but my vary in location depending on the model of the printer.

To release the job, open the Pharos App and select the QR Icon in the upper right hand corner:

Once the QR icon is selected, the photo application on the phone will open allowing an image to be captured. Point the camera at the desired printer where the print job(s) should be released.
