Student Employee Account - Creation and Activation
Explains the automated process for student employee account creation and activation
Student employee account creation does not need to be requested as it takes place as part of an automated process.
Student employee accounts will be created or enabled automatically 1-2 business days after their entry into HRS. HR will CC the supervisor on the "Welcome to UW-Oshkosh Student Employment" email for the student employee. That email means the person was entered into HRS and it will be 1-2 business days after that when their account is created or activated. As a supervisor, you can confirm account creation by typing their staff.netID email address into an email message and seeing if they pop up, that means they are in the global address list and their account is active. Student employees who have never been hired by UW Oshkosh before will receive an email to their student email address with their account username and credentials.
Additional access can only be provided to this account after it is created. Please wait to submit access requests until after you have confirmed account creation.
If it has been 1-2 business days since receipt of the "Welcome to UW-Oshkosh Student Employment" email and you do not see their staff.netID account pop up when you draft an email, please submit a service request with IT so we can see if there are any issues with the creation of their account.
