TeamViewer - Install TeamViewer Quick Support

Instructions on how to install TeamViewer to receive remote support from Information Technology.

TeamViewer

TeamViewer is an application that IT uses to quickly and remotely access your computer to troubleshoot software related issues or to install additonal software that individuals have requested.

Download TeamViewer

  1. Navigate to https://get.teamviewer.com/uwo-it.
  2. A new page will load. On the right hand side there are three downloadable applications that you may choose from, click on the operating system that you are currently using. For most of us, it will either be Windows, or Mac. 

Windows Installation

  1. Click on Windows Remote Support.
  2. A pop up will appear asking where you would like to save the application, click the drop down menu and select Desktop.
  3. Click Save.
  4. Navigate to the desktop. 
  5. Double click TeamViewer QuickSupport to run the application.
  6. You will then have a unique ID and password that a technician will ask for. 

Mac Installation

  1. Click on Mac Remote Support.
  2. A pop up will appear asking where you would like to save the application, click the dropdown menu and select Desktop
  3. Click Save.
  4. TeamViewerQS.app.zip will appear on your desktop. Click on the file, and the TeamViewer QuickSupport application will appear.
  5. Double click TeamViewer Quick Support to open. 
  6. If you receive the error "TeamViewer QuickSupport can't be opened because the identity of the Developer cannot be confirmed," then right click the application and then click Open.
  7. You will then have a unique ID and password that a technician will ask for.
