This document explains how to register a device to the wired connection for students who live in the Residence Halls.

Registering Device to Wired Connection In Residence Hall

If you live in a Residence Hall and would like to use the wired connection you need to register your device to the MyUWO Portal.

You can either go to the MyUWO Portal or to


Step by Step Instructions:

  1. On MyUWO Portal, select the Utilities module group and look for Device Manager.
  2. Click Add Device (Note: you can only register up to three devices)
  3. Agree to the Residence Life Acceptable Use Policy
  4. If you’re registering your current device  select This Device. Otherwise, select Other Device.
  5. Choose what kind of device you’re registering
    • For Computers, choose your operating system, which will usually be automatically selected for you.
    • For Gaming Consoles, choose appropriate gaming console.
    • Select Other if neither of the above is your device.
  6. Find your MAC address. Instructions for the device you chose will be shown on the screen.
  7. When you finish, make sure that you restart your device to complete the registration process.
