Wireless (Mac) - Manual Setup

Manual Instructions to connect to Titan Wifi or Eduroam on a Mac

  1. Click on the Apple in the upper left hand corner of the window
  2. Select System Preferences
  3. Select Network
  4. On the left hand side are the network interfaces, click on Wi-Fi
  5. Click Turn WiFi Off
  6. Click Advanced near the bottom of the window
  7. A new window will pop up with all the Wi-Fi settings
  8. Select the Wi-Fi tab (you should be here by default)
  9. There will be box name Preferred Networks that list all the recently connected to Wi-Fi networks
  10. Click the minus button next to all the networks you don't use
    • Make sure to remove Titan WiFi or Eduroam
  11. Click OK
  12. Now click OK
  13. The window will close
  14. Click Apply under System Preferences
  15. Click Turn WiFi On
  16. Click Apply under System Preferences
  17. Click Advanced near the bottom of the window
  18. Under the Preferred Networks click the + button to add a network
  19. Another window will pop up
  20. Click Choose a network...,
  21. Select Titan WiFi or Eduroam
  22. Click OK
  23. Type your NetID and password
  24. Click OK
  25. In the list of Preferred Networks: find Titan WiFi or Eduroam
  26. Click on it and drag it to the top of the list, this will make Titan WiFi or Eduroam the preferred network
  27. Click OK again
  28. It make take up to 30 seconds to connect the first time.  A successful connection will start a timer, you'll see 'Authenticated via PEAP (MSCHAPv2) Connect Time xx:xx:xx';
  29. Click Apply
  30. Close System Preferences
  31. The Wi-Fi icon in the bar along the top should be a continuous black.  
  32. The IP address should start 141.233.x.x.  You can now close the 'System Preferences'.
