Internet Browsers - Clearing Cache and Cookies
Instructions on how to clear cache and cookies for popular web browsers.
NOTE: You can use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+Delete (Windows and Linux) or command+shift+delete (Mac) to instantly skip to the last step for any browser.
Microsoft Edge
- Click the Tools menu (three dotted lines in the upper-right corner), and open the Settings menu.
- Click Privacy, search, and services on the left-side menu.
- Under the section Clear browsing data, Click Choose what to clear.
- Select Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files.
- Click Clear Now.
- Close Microsoft Edge completely for your changes to take effect.
Chrome
- Click on the menu button at the top right of Chrome.
- Click History in the menu.
- Click History again.
- Select Clear Browsing Data in the History page that opens.
- Choose The Beginning of Time for the time to remove cache data.
- Select types of data to remove.
- Click Clear Browsing Data and allow some time for the data to be removed.
Firefox
- Click the menu icon on the top right.
- Choose History.
- If this icon does not appear, click Customize and drag History into the menu window.
- Select Clear Recent History.
- Change the time range to Everything.
- Choose the options for data removal.
- Click Clear Now and allow some time for the data to be cleared.
Safari
- Click Safari on the top menu bar.
- Select Clear History and Website Data...
- Choose Remove Now.
Opera
- Click on the Speed Dial button to the left of the address bar.
- Click the History section on the bottom.
- Click Clear Browsing Data.
- Choose The beginning of time for the time period of data to clear.
- Choose the types of data to be cleared.
- Click Clear Browsing Data and allow some time for the data to be cleared.
Internet Explorer
- Click the gear icon on the top right (Tools).
- Click Internet Options.
- Select Internet Settings.
- In the General tab, select Delete...
- Select the types of data you wish to remove.
- Click Delete and allow a moment for the data to be cleared.
