Google Chromebook - Reset (powerwash) your device
Explains why and how to reset (powerwash) your Chromebook.
When to reset your Chromebook
- See a message that says “Reset this Chrome device!”
- Are having problems with your user profile or settings
- Have tried restarting your Chromebook and it's still not working properly
- Want to reset owner permissions
Before you reset your Chromebook
It's important to remember that resetting removes user profiles, Wi-Fi settings, and files that are saved to your Chromebook's hard drive. We recommend saving everything on your hard drive to Google Drive so you can use it after you reset your Chromebook.
