One Button Studio - Format USB Drive to FAT32

Instructions for formatting a flash drive to FAT32 on Windows and Mac

One Button Studio requires the USB drive on which it records to be formatted to the file type FAT32. Follow the instructions below each operating system to format the USB drive.

For Windows

  1. Connect the USB device to the computer. 
  2. Click the Start button or Windows icon in the lower left corner. 
  3. Select My Computer from the list. 
  4. Right-click on the USB device to be formatted. 
  5. From the pop-up menu, click Format...
  6. In the Format window under File System, click the drop-down menu and select FAT32 then click the start button. 
  7. At the Warning message, click OK.
    • NOTE: Formatting the USB will delete all content on the device.
  8. At the Format Complete window, click OK.
  9. Click Close on the Format window.
  10. Click the X on the top-right to close the My Computer window.

For Mac

  1. Connect the USB device to the computer.
  2. Open Disk Utility located under Applications, then Utilities.
  3. Select the USB device in the left panel.
  4. Change to the Erase tab. 
  5. In the Volume Format: selection box, click MS-DOS File System.
  6. Click Erase
    • NOTE: Formatting the USB will delete all content on the device.
  7. At the confirmation dialog, click Erase again. 
  8. Close the Disk Utility window.
