Food Service Vendor (A'viands) IT Support

Service Levels for UW Oshkosh food service vendor (A'viands) and UW Oshkosh IT

Vendor-owned computers must not be imaged by UW Oshkosh IT or added to our domain (uwoad.it.uwosh.edu)


  • A'viands Support; What does Vendor IT do and what does UW Oshkosh IT do? (who to contact)

    • Hardware/software issues:

      • Contact Vendor Help Desk

      • hardware/software owned by vendor, UWO IT does not manage or have admin rights)

    • Login issues:

      • Contact vendor help desk (unless one of the old UWO surplus computers with UWO____ computer name)

      • vendor employees sign into computers with provided vendor accounts

    • Network/Internet access (eg. computers/printers):

      • Contact UWO IT Help Desk

      • data jacks, data cords, Internet access

    • Shared (S:) drive:

      • Contact UWO IT Help Desk

      • UW Oshkosh NetID accounts

      • Shared (S:) drive permissions

      • Shared (S:) drive connection setup


  • Example: New computer setup (vendor-owned)
    • UW Oshkosh IT tasks:
      • The computer will need to be connected to the network and any needed printers. 
      • The user will need to sign in with a local account, provided by vendor's IT Help Desk
      • A manually created Shared (S:\) drive mapping needs to be created with the 'reconnect at logon' and 'use other credentials' (user: uwoad.it.uwosh.edu\NetID).
