Microsoft PowerPoint 2016 - Using Themes

This guide will show you how to use pre-made templates in PP to make creating a presentation easier.

Creating a Presentation from a Template or Theme

  1. Choose the File tab.
  2. Select New.
  3. Select a theme/template to get started.
  4. A box will appear with different color schemes. 
  5. Choose one that is appealing to the presentation.

Changing Themes

Being able to change themes is a valuable tool as a presentation my change over time.

Changing Theme for Presentation

This will apply to all the slides in a presentation
  1. Click on the Design tab.
  2. Choose a theme.
  3. This will apply to all of the slides.

Changing Themes for One Slide

This will apply only to the selected slides.
  1. Click on the Design tab.
  2. Choose a theme by right clicking on it.
  3. Choose Apply to Selected Slides
