Microsoft PowerPoint 2016 - Audio Files

This guide will show you how to add, edit, and move audio files in PowerPoint presentations.

Adding and Working with Audio Files

  1. Select the Insert tab.
  2. Then on the right hand side of the toolbar, choose Audio.
  3. Choose Audio on My PC to select a file from the currently on the computer.
  4. A speaker icon will appear on the slide, meaning there is audio present on the slide.

Recording Audio

  1. Select the Insert tab.
  2. Choose Audio.
  3. Choose Record Audio.
    1. When the slide appears, name it and select the red circle to start recording.
    2. Select the Stop Button to stop the recording.
    3. Select the Play Button to hear the recording.
  4. A speaker icon will appear on the slide, meaning there is audio present on the slide. 

Formatting Audio Files

  1. Select the Playback tab.
  2. Choose the desired effect from this menu.
