Calendar Invite Spam on Apple Devices

This article explains how to prevent spam calendar invitations from appearing in your calendar on Apple devices.

Calendar Invite Spam on Apple Devices

Some Apple users have recently been receiving spam as calendar invites, with spam and ads appearing as events in their iCloud calendars.  This is occurring because Apple pulls calendar information from email and automatically puts it into your calendar. To prevent this from happening, you must disable this feature in your iCloud account.

Disable invitations from email

Follow these instructions to disable invitations from email:

  1. Navigate to icloud.com and sign in with your iCloud account.
  2. Select Calendar.
  3. In the Calendar interface, click the gear icon in the lower left and select Preferences...
  4. Select the Advanced tab.
  5. Scroll down to the Invitations heading and select the option to email to your iCloud email.
  6. Click Save.
