OneDrive - Setup OneDrive in Windows or Mac Operating System

This document provides step by step instructions on how to setup Microsoft's OneDrive on a Windows or Mac Operating System.

If using Windows, complete the next 5 steps:

Step 1:  Go to  https://onedrive.live.com/about/en-us/download/  (Chrome web browser recommended).

Step 2:  Click on blue Download button.




Step 3:  Click on the arrow next to OneDriveSetup.exe at bottom left corner of screen and select Open.




Step 4:  Click on the Run button in the pop-up dialogue box.  Installation may take a few moments.




Step 5:  Select OneDrive from the Start Menu (Windows 7:  ‘Microsoft OneDrive’ in your Start Menu under Programs).

If using Mac OS, complete the next 10 steps:

Step 1:  Go to https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=823060 (Chrome web browser recommended).

Step 2:  Click on the Save button.




Step 3:  Click on arrow next to OneDrive.pkg at bottom left corner of screen and select Open.




Step 4:  Click on the Continue button.




Step 5:  Click on the Install for all users of this computer.
             Click on the Continue button.




Step 6:  Click on the Install button.




Step 7:  Enter an administrator username in the User Name area and an administrator password in the
             Password area (usually your NetID username and password).  Installation may take a few moments.




Step 8:  Click on the Close button.




Step 9:  If prompted, click on the Move to Trash button.




Step 10:  Click on the Finder icon in the Dock.  Under Applications, double click on OneDrive.




 

Continue with the following 5 steps to setup Microsoft OneDrive for either Windows or Mac OS:

Step 1:  Enter your TitanApps email address and click on the Sign in button.
             If prompted, click on the Work or school button.

 


Step 2:  Enter your NetID password in the area below your TitanApps email address and click on the Sign in button.




Step 3:  Click on the Next button.




Step 4:  To have files and folders from OneDrive be available on this computer, add checkmarks to the boxes in front of them.
             Click on the Next button.





Step 5:  Scroll through any remaining windows to complete setup.



You can access OneDrive from:
  • within the File Explorer (Windows)
  • within Finder under Favorites (Mac OS)
  • the open/save feature of many apps
  • Microsoft OneDrive in your Start Menu under Programs (Windows 7)

NOTE:  Only use the OneDrive – University of Wisconsin Oshkosh folder.  Do not use the OneDrive folder if shown.
