Linux Lab - First Login

How to log in to the Halsey 101a Linux Lab - first time login

The Halsey Linux computer lab accounts are created automatically for students in computer science classes requiring access. If you have never logged in before, follow this procedure:

  1. Enter your username, this is the same as your NetID username used for WiFi and other services.
  2. Enter your 7-digit campus ID number as the password.
  3. Your password is pre-expired and must be changed. When prompted for your LDAP password, enter your 7-digit campus ID number again.
  4. Choose a new password, you will be prompted to enter it twice for verification.

After choosing a new password, this will be your password for the Linux lab only.

If you would like to change your password at some point in the future, open a terminal window an type "passwd" - follow the prompts to choose a new password.

If you have forgotten your password, please contact the help desk at 920-424-3020.
